I originally found out about the character of Hit-Monkey through the Daniel Way volume 2 collection of Deadpool, where he is hunting down Deadpool in New York, so of course Spider-Man shows up. In this it reads as a prequel showing where Hit-Monkey got his fighting skill and that he originally was just a regular old Macaque also referred to as Snow Monkeys. His tribe takes in a badly injured assassin, and his attackers soon show up as well and kill him and Hit-Monkeys entire tribe. hit-monkey becomes almost possessed by the ghost of the assassin who becomes sorta a bad version of Obi wan's force ghost as he tells mr monkey to go after the killers, revenge. Overall fun story wish it were longer, feels very similar to the Meg Origins book in the essence that it's a prequel that doesn't need to be read to affect how you see Hit Monkey in other stories, but if your a fan it's sure is worth picking up! I loved it and Hit-Monkey has become one of my favorite comic book characters, behind DCs Joker. I rate it 7.5/10.0

HitMonkey Daniel Way 9780785148593 Books Reviews
Excellent
There's not much to it, other than this; Hit-Monkey is very good and enjoyable.
I'm glad Deadpool had it's own Hit-Monkey spin-off. It's pretty funny at times, but it's mostly a very serious book.
Great book, we need a proper Hit-Monkey series!!!
Great way to get the story without having to pay the full price
A monkey assassin.
There is really nothing else to say.
I don't have enough good to say about Hit-Monkey. Don't take it too seriously but don't pass it off as a joke. This isn't going to fill in any plot holes an a Marvel storyline but it's a fun story that you shouldn't pass up.
If I review a comic it's because I want people to know how awesome the comic is. This is my 3rd review and I own 3117 comics (Lol, no I didn't count them but my comics got their own room). This comic is about to take the headlines with talk of a movie coming out and a game they decided 2 make over an avengers game because of the intrigue of the story.
An assassin goes into hiding in the mountains to escape certain death and is saved by a group of albino monkeys. One monkey senses the danger he brings and in his tantrum gets outed by his family... But the assassin knows him to be wise. He practices the assassins art of hand to hand combat- and watches as the assassin's past comes back to haunt them.
There's a lesson to be learned throughout this novel that the assassin preaches repeatedly Pick up a gun in anger, & your doomed to never put it down.
Telling ya all now, he's the next big thing if everything goes accordingly. Comedy and action, great for all ages but suggest it for adults. Can't put this down once you pick it up, you won't regret buying it. Amazing origin story with 3 follow-up issues that tell the story of Hit-Monkey
Collects Hit-Monkey origin & issues 1-3
